When Guard Insurance established their new workplace in Brisbane’s CBD, they set out to create more than just an office – they wanted a space that reflected their professional values, made a strong first impression, and supported day-to-day functionality for their team.

Delivered by The Fitout Studio, the result is a sleek and inviting environment that balances polish with practicality – and Acouflor’s Urbicus carpet tiles in ‘Bowden’ played a key part in bringing this vision to life.

Selected from Acouflor’s SoftStep™ Collection, Urbicus in Bowden offers a plush, broadloom-style finish underfoot, ideal for open-plan workspaces where comfort matters. The tile’s 11mm thickness provides subtle acoustic absorption, helping to soften noise in collaborative zones and meeting rooms, while its solution-dyed nylon construction delivers long-term durability in high-traffic areas.

The earthy green-brown tones of Bowden were a natural match for the project’s material palette – adding understated warmth and echoing the biophilic design cues that run throughout the fitout. Inspired by Australia’s suburban architecture and named after local neighbourhoods, the Urbicus range connects built spaces with a sense of place – a fitting choice for a business grounded in community and trust.

The carpet tiles were expertly installed by Baseline Flooring QLD, whose precision and attention to detail ensured a flawless finish across the expansive office floorplate. Their craftsmanship helped tie together the design intent and reinforce the space’s overall sense of calm and cohesion.
